CTV Launches Original Content On Digital Platforms

New interactive content and social media connectivity is playing out across CTV digital platforms, as the broadcaster unveils an online companion series for the undercover cop drama Played.

CTV reports its latest original interactive digital series Interference is now available exclusively on its online and mobile platforms, including CTV.ca/Interference and on the CTV GO app.

Interference’s original episodes let viewers connect with the entire series and the show’s investigative team, using smartphones, text messages, and Facebook accounts.

From interactive agency Secret Location, Interference is partially financed by The Bell Fund.

Interference is CTV’s latest digital spin-off, one of several initiatives to develop and leverage companion digital series. In 2013, CTV premiered companion online content for The Listener, Saving Hope and Motive across its digital platforms.

“Interference is part of CTV’s ongoing strategy to extend the viewer experience by providing fans with innovative and interactive opportunities to further engage with CTV Original Programming,” said Mike Cosentino, Senior Vice-President, Programming, CTV Networks. “The action-packed world of Played, one that is full of split-second decisions, lent itself perfectly to creating a spin-off using the latest technology in interactive digital series.”

The production comes from Secret Location, Muse Entertainment Enterprises, and Back Alley Film Productions Ltd. in association with Bell Media and The Bell Fund.
